EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

Seymour High School * Seymour, CT * June 1985
H.S. Diploma * GPA: B

Rhode Island School of Photography
* Providence, RI * June 1989
Certificate, Advanced Course of Photography * Minor: Commercial Photography * GPA: B
I chose this school over many others because of the practicality of its curriculum. Although I did not receive a degree from this college, I did learn the necessary skills to become a good photographer. Instead of academics, our 8 hour school day consisted of classes such as Portraiture, Fashion, Photojournalism, Commercial, and every day we had lab. We were given assignments, and deadlines to meet them. I feel the school gave me a well-rounded education of all types of photography, and yet allowed me to develop the area that most interested me, more fully.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Action Film Service, Inc.
* Pensacola, FL * November 1994 to February 2001
Photographer/ Lab Technician
During my employ at Action Film Service I had many responsibilities. I assisted working at the front counter in the camera shop. I was the studio photographer. I organized, assembled, and shot most of the children's sports photography. I assisted with the B&W lab; doing B&W film development, B&W printing, shooting color & B&W copy negatives, shooting inter-negatives and copy slides.

In July of 1998, they bought a computer system to start doing digital restorations. With no actual training, I was told to learn it. I taught myself Adobe Photoshop, and started doing the restorations. At the beginning of August 2000, I took over the custom-color printing lab, making custom prints from locket-size, up to 20X30's. In between all of this, I painted, I built walls and new rooms, I cleaned and organized the stockroom several times; I was generally the all around do-what-ever-they-need guy.

Bellview Volunteer Fire Department * Pensacola, FL * January 1992 to August 1993
Photographer
This was a volunteer position. I responded to all calls involving traffic accidents or fires.

Capitol Photographic Studios
* Fairfield, CT * June 1989 to May 1990
Assistant Photographer
I ran the in-house lab; second photographer doing portraiture, architectural, and commercial photography.
